Service

Illinois Stamps Scholars are charged with leading change through service to the community.  Philanthropic activities are an opportunity for personal and professional growth and often lead students toward career paths otherwise undiscovered.

Illinois students are passionate about bettering the lives of others.  Their collective commitment adds up to thousands upon thousands of hours of work for a variety of causes including fundraising for cancer research, working with refugees, tutoring in local schools, and much more.

Resources for scholars

Office of Volunteer Programs (OVP)

OVP pairs students with opportunities where they gain invaluable experience through public engagement.  Scholars who sign up for the OVP list serve will stay in the loop about volunteer opportunities as they arise.

Community Learning Lab (CLL)

An initiative of the School of Social Work, the CLL matches University of Illinois students with community projects.  For students, it’s an opportunity for experiential learning, professional networking, and to be an active member of the Champaign-Urbana community.

CU-at-Home

CU-at-Home engages the Champaign-Urbana community to house and support the most vulnerable homeless on their journey of healing and restoration.  There are a variety of ways to get involved including One Winter Night, an overnight fundraising event that has become an annual tradition for Illinois Stamps Scholars.
